Working as a nanny and at an elementary school, my eyes have been opened to family. What family means, parenting, children, etc. I am by no means saying that I have it all figured out. However, I will say that I've seen a simple need of children that is often neglected, time. Kids want your time. I've seen this over and over. Parents who give their children their time and attention and parents who don't. There is a world of difference in the personality of those children.
Mom gave us her time. She gave us her attention. She gave us herself.
She gave me so much security.
I didn't know that what my mom gave me was incredibly selfless. I didn't know that not every kid receives this.
My mom taught me an incredible definition of 'mother.'
I'm so blessed.
